Ask HN: Has GitHub ever messed with your private repositories?

I am considering self hosting/bare repos on a file server of mine versus GitHub. I'm curious if you or anyone you've heard about has been screwed over by GitHub. In particular, with private repositories GitHub may have taken issue with for whatever reason.

I'm essentially wondering if such things as this (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9966118) have ever happened with private repositories.
